Pioneer Smart Environment Group plays a leading role in transforming dryland farming through certified grass seed harvesting and fodder aggregation. These two projects work hand in hand to improve livestock nutrition, restore degraded land, and create sustainable income streams for small-scale farmers across Kibwezi and the wider Makueni region.

We specialise in the production of Rhodes X-Tozi grass and Eragrostis superba (Maasai Love Grass)—indigenous and drought-resilient varieties ideal for Kenya’s arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs). These grasses are high in crude protein and fibre, making them perfect for fodder while also serving as key agents for rangeland rehabilitation and soil erosion control.
To meet the rising demand for quality livestock feed, we aggregate baled hay from both members and affiliated farmers. This fodder is collected during rainy seasons and stored in a central hay barn for distribution during dry periods when pasture is scarce.
Our fodder supply chain includes:
Bulk sales to livestock keepers, cooperatives, and exporters
Distribution to weekly livestock markets across the region
Collaboration with non-member farmers to boost community supply
Seasonal pricing strategies that benefit both farmers and buyers
Every bale supports not just livestock health—but family income, food security, and climate resilience.
We welcome partnerships with livestock cooperatives, exporters, conservation agencies, and seed distributors. Let’s grow healthy livestock, greener landscapes, and stronger communities together.
Promoting environmental regeneration, sustainable farming, and community resilience through conservation, education, tree planting, beekeeping, and inclusive agri-business.
